Zach Salisbury was born and raised in foster care in a small farm town of a thousand people in upstate New York. He spent his formative years working as a farm hand and developed a deep connection to farm life and the natural world.
After being mentored by veterans during high school, Zach went on to serve in the Marines from 2010 to 2014. Zach achieved several individual awards and meritorious promotions, ultimately achieving the rank of Sergeant before being honorably discharged.
Following service, Zach attended Binghamton University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Law. While a student, the university awarded Zach as a “Student Leader of the Year” in 2017 for founding the Veteran Student Organization and getting it nationally chartered by the Student Veterans of America. Zach was subsequently employed by the university as the Student Veteran Advocate.
Zach’s next step was to accept a position with Clear Path for Veterans, a veteran holistic wellness nonprofit, as a Community Outreach Coordinator. In 2018, Zach founded the Quality of Life Agency and began providing business development, human resources, marketing, research and development, and workforce development consulting services to public, private, and nonprofit organizations.
When Zach isn’t spending time with family, working, or doing research, you can find him taking the scenic road to nowhere land seeking out an adventure, hunting for waterfalls in the highlands, casting for krakens in the lowlands, stopping by farms to make conversation with the animals, asking locals for their backstories, or looking for a hole in the wall to watch a Liverpool match or see live music with friends.
